Ultra-durable secondary labels for blood bags designed for application over the existing primary label.

Ideal for identifying and storage of whole blood, resuspensions, and components i.e. RBC, platelet, plasma.

Withstand temperatures from -80°C to +110°C, and suitable for long-term storage in laboratory freezers (-80°C, -20°C), refrigerators as well as transportation on dry ice. Resistant to spraying with alcohols, centrifugation, as well as gamma irradiation (up to 50 KGy), and ethylene oxide sterilization. Can be applied to wet surfaces.

A direct thermal printer prints by applying heat to the material. It does not use any ribbon, ink or toner, but it requires a special type of heat-sensitive material that blackens when heat is applied. Because the label material is heat sensitive.
